Susan is a registered nurse with over 40 years of clinical experience, primarily gained in operating theatres across a wide range of surgical specialities, including dermatology and plastic surgery.
Susan has worked as a laser nurse practitioner for the past 14 years and hold’s advanced laser qualifications certifying her experience in complex procedures aligned with industry standards and regulations. In addition, Susan is qualified in chemical peels, professional facials and advanced electrical facial treatments.
Susan has found the role of a laser nurse practitioner extremely rewarding, allowing her to deliver safe, effective, and transformative treatments while supporting patients to gain confidence as their skin improves.
Laura McDonald
Registered nurse and qualified laser practitioner
Laura is a qualified nurse with 17 years of post-registration experience, following her training at Northumbria University. She has 16 years’ experience working in pre-operative theatres preparing patients for operations and in critical care theatres across many surgical specialties, providing safe, evidence based care to patients with complex clinical needs.
Laura’s clinical background includes extensive experience in burns and plastic surgery, with a strong focus on patient assessment, infection prevention and safety during operations. She became a laser nurse practitioner four years ago. In this role, she delivers a range of laser treatments and undertakes comprehensive patient consultations, clinical assessments and ensures treatments are appropriate and safe.
Laura has completed advanced laser training and has developed in depth clinical knowledge of dermatological conditions, skin lesion management and laser tissue interaction. She works in line with local and national guidelines and prioritises patient education, consent and aftercare.
