Experience:
Mr Holland was appointed consultant at the Freeman Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle in 1998.
He carried out his medical school and orthopaedic training in Birmingham including an orthopaedic fellowship in hip and knee surgery in Johannesburg, South Africa 1997.
From 1998 until 2021 Mr Holland has carried out:
- Over 1000 hip resurfacing surgeries
- 4000 hip replacements
His specialist interests are hip resurfacing and replacement, revision hip replacement and primary knee replacements and knee arthroscopy along with young and complex surgeries, safe innovation and the development of new techniques including the first UK ceramic RECERF hip resurfacing.
Other interests include teaching, lecturing and practical technical improvements to advance safe introduction of new treatments for hip arthritis.
