Experience:
Mr Sandhu is a leading ophthalmic surgeon, with specific expertise in areas including anterior segment conditions, cataract, external eye diseases and corneal transplantation. His post-graduate ophthalmic training was undertaken in Newcastle, whilst obtaining a Master’s degree in clinical research from Newcastle University. He moved to London to undertake specialist advanced fellowship training in external eye diseases and corneal transplantation at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital; during this time, he was the recipient of a national eyecare education award.
Mr Sandhu is appointed as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon and is passionate about offering new treatments and surgical techniques to find the most suitable treatments for each patient. He offers premium lens replacement surgery both in cataract surgery (cloudy lens) and implanted intraocular lenses for correcting short-sightedness, astigmatism, long-sightedness and improving reading vision (presbyopia).
He continues to play a pivotal role training ophthalmic surgeons as a clinical and educational supervisor, shaping the future of the profession, and has served as the North East representative on the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ National Ophthalmic Training Group.

- Pterygium removal (abnormal growth of tissue on the conjunctiva, the clear membrane that covers the white of the eye)
