Experience:
Professor of cardiology and consultant interventional cardiologist at Freeman Hospital and Newcastle University. Following graduation at Leeds University Medical School, he completed postgraduate training in cardiology at regional centres in Leeds, London, Cardiff and New York. He was a Fulbright Scholar and British Heart Foundation International Fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.
Head of coronary intervention and director of the cardiac catheter laboratories in a tertiary cardiac centre, professor ZamanI was specialty group lead for cardiovascular research (2013-18) in the region with an interest in clinical research and over 200 peer reviewed publications. He has a particular interest in thrombosis in diabetes and coronary artery disease and heads up one of the largest cardiovascular centres in the UK for clinical trials. He has a special interest in patients with heart attacks and aortic valve disease.
