Experience:
Professor White is head of liver transplant surgery the Freeman Hospital and Professor of hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) and transplant surgery Newcastle University.
He has nearly 20 years’ experience as a consultant in a tertiary referral unit for liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct resection.
This includes lap chole, a minimally invasive procedure to remove a diseased gall bladder, lap hernias – hernia repair, and any robotic operation.
He treats every cancer specialty – whatever the complexity – relating to the above organs. This also includes total pancreatectomy – a surgical procedure performed to treat chronic pancreatitis, islet transplantation – a minor procedure to transfer pancreatic cells and implant them in the liver of someone with type 1 diabetes, liver, pancreas and renal transplantation. He performed some of the first robotic hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) resections in the UK.
