Treatments carried out:
- Facial surgery including facelift, neck lift, open and closed nose shaping (rhinoplasty), upper and lower eye lid surgery (blepharoplasty), prominent ear correction.
- Breast surgery including breast augmentation, breast uplift and breast reduction.
- Body recontouring surgery including arm reduction or lift, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and thigh lift.
- Children’s prominent ear correction and removal of skin marks.
Experience:
Mr Hodgkinson has been a consultant plastic surgeon since 1996 and has worked at the Royal Victoria Infirmary since then.
Trained in plastic and cosmetic surgery in Manchester, Slough, Newcastle and South Wales, he undertook higher training in facial and craniofacial surgery for a year in the Australian Craniofacial Unit of South Australia.
Within the NHS he is principally a cleft and plastic surgeon with an extensive practice involving adults and children and all aspects of cleft surgery. Mr Hodgkinson has been head of department of the plastic surgical unit at Newcastle Hospitals, a consultant appraiser and he co-chairs the private practice committee.
He has practiced private cosmetic surgery since 1996 and undertakes a wide range of procedures, mostly as day-cases. Mr Hodgkinson does private cosmetic surgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary outside with his NHS work.
His treatments include those above along with repairing split ear lobes, chin surgery (genioplasty), liposuction, total body lifts, cosmetic fillers and botox and plastic surgery procedures for children.
Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee for an external private hospital, he is also an assessor for the Certificate in Cosmetic Surgery scheme at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is on the panel of experts in cosmetic surgery at the GMC.
Mr Hodgkinson has a PhD in facial anomaly research and has been published widely in cleft surgery and cosmetic surgery for over 40 years.
