Mr Jason Powell is a specialist children’s ENT surgeon, one of a small number in the UK.
He graduated from Newcastle Medical School and completed training in this specialty for adults and children in the north east of England. Subsequently, he competed a prestigious one-year paediatric fellowship in North America based at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and provided extensive training in the management of children’s diseases in this field.
He has an interest in all aspects including sleep apnoea and tonsil infections, specialised airway assessment and treatment of children with complex breathing disorders, management of ear infections and hearing problems, integrating endoscopic, minimally invasive, ear drum and middle ear surgery and surgery for congenital and acquired head and neck lesions in children.
Mr Powell is passionate about providing modern evidence-based care for the children he cares for. He is a clinical academic at Newcastle University where he leads a research group investigating airway and middle ear problems in children. He has published numerous peer reviewed publications, book chapters and presents regularly internationally.
